Good news everyone, a new LightWave plugin for Modeler is here. Bust out your (uncompressed PCM) Wave audio files and generate geometry from their waveforms! You can use the waveform curves to make models to extrude, lathe or whatever. Or export them as .EPS files and load them into Illustrator and use them in After Effects for your Motion Graphics. Or save them as a Motion Curve and use them to animate things in LightWave. Check out WaveFormFitter here.
Our Leap Motion developer preview device just arrived, already it’s looking awesome, tracks super fast – even in bad lighting. Stay tuned for some prototypes and videos – they’ll be posted here soon! So far the Leap Motion people are awesome and seem to be taking a chapter from the playbook Apple used when they actually gave a damn. These guys know their stuff, are really responsive, and seem to get that developers will make their devices fly off the shelves. Looking forward to digging in to the code!
Just a few quick posts as we ramp up. In the downloads section you can now find a couple of new Lightwave Modeler LScripts which help with exporting morphs as OBJ files and also with instantly chopping up your objects and symmetrizing them. Also a few goodies like better labelled Lightwave icons for your taskbar or dock, and NotePad++ IDE support for LScript. Enjoy!
